Our Story

We built this because we needed it ourselves

We're professional trainers — ICAgile Authorized Instructors, Training from the Back of the Room (TBR) practitioners, and Diagnostic Sales trainers. Learning design is our daily work. And coaching skill development was our biggest bottleneck.

The problem we lived every day

We train people in coaching skills. We know the theory works. But between our training sessions, participants had nowhere to practice. They'd learn powerful questioning on Tuesday and forget it by Friday — not because the content was bad, but because there was no repetition, no feedback loop, no safe space to try and fail.

Finding practice partners is hard. Scheduling is harder. And getting honest, structured feedback on coaching competencies? Nearly impossible without paying for expensive mentor coaching hours.

So we built what we wished existed: a practice environment that's available anytime, gives instant competency feedback, and actually helps people improve between training sessions.

Built on learning science, not just technology

CoachTrainer.AI isn't a chatbot with a coaching skin. It's designed around how adults actually learn skills — grounded in Bloom's Taxonomy, experiential learning principles, and the TBR methodology we use daily.

Bloom's Taxonomy in action

Remember & Understand: SEO guides and competency pages explain ICF concepts clearly
Apply: AI practice sessions let you use coaching skills in realistic conversations
Analyze: ICF competency reports break down what you did well and what you missed — with evidence
Evaluate: Compare your sessions over time. See which competencies are growing and which are plateauing
Create: Build custom scenarios, design your own practice sessions, develop your unique coaching style

Most coaching tools stop at “Remember” — they give you a list of questions to memorize. We take you all the way to “Create” — where you're building your own coaching approach through deliberate practice with immediate feedback.

Training from the Back of the Room

Sharon Bowman's TBR methodology teaches us that learners learn best when they're doing, not watching. CoachTrainer.AI is built on this principle:

Connections

Onboarding connects your existing experience to your learning goals

Concepts

Exercises teach the 'how' with good/bad examples before you practice

Concrete Practice

AI sessions are the practice — you do, not read about doing

Conclusions

ICF reports help you reflect on what you learned and plan next steps

We didn't build this from a pitch deck. We built it because our participants needed a way to practice between our sessions. Now yours can too.
